Sorry for this delayed reply. Busy time of year and was in the desert with little connection the past 2 weeks. I have no idea if there are many if any trees left standing at this point as they seemed to have been well on their way to clearing everything when I was there in May. Last fall I was there shooting October 8th and the colors were great so perhaps too late anyway.

Hi Wendy. Sorry for the delay in replying to your comment and question and thanks for the compliment.

The “tree farm” and that land was sold but the actual mill that processed the lumber from those trees was still in operation when I was there this past spring. Apparently they are two separate businesses now so not sure about the permission process. You can still shoot from the road into the trees. Before you had to go the the mill to sign a waiver and get permission. That mill is not right on the frontage road but maybe 3/4 mile down a different road off that frontage road. Sorry I don’t have better directions. Best of luck!

Beautiful images. Thank you for sharing and thank you for your updates on Boardman. After hearing of the sale I’ve been planning to go this October but I had heard that the new owners were not allowing photographers on the land any more. Can you let me know a little more about your experience as far as permissions go? I tried to call but can’t get anyone to answer the phone.
